* Thesis defense exams of graduate programs with thesis could be at the earliest 15 days and the latest 40 days following the submission of thesis copies to the Graduate School along with the “Exam Application and Jury Proposal Form” which are send by the head of department.
**After completing the course phase of the Natural and Applied Sciences Doctorate program that he/she is enrolled in, the student can take the Proficiency Exam within the time intervals specified in the calendar (between the semesters). The curriculum of the doctoral programs in Natural and Applied Sciences includes the XXX 5691 Guided Research course, in which students who will take the proficiency exam in the following semester or semesters after completing their seminars and courses. The course is carried out by the student’s Thesis Advisor. The success of the student taking the course is S (Sufficient) if he / she takes the proficiency exam in the related semester, P (Sufficient) if he/she enters the proficiency exam but fails and P (Successful Resume) to be determined by the advisor depending on the student’s success in the course. or NP (Failed Continue) is evaluated with a letter grade. Before the semester in which the course in question is taken, the proficiency exam of the student is given.
The thesis course grade of the student who has been deemed “Successful” after the Proficiency Exam is the Result of the Thesis Monitoring Committee Meeting (P or NP).
